I’m constantly exploring for strategies to eat better, but the simple truth is that even though I desire to be healthy, I’m not ready to give up flavor. There isn’t any point in me fixing a meal that is healthy but bland because Iwill in all probability simply toss it away and reach for something that tastes fantastic. And, chances are that the food I reach for will be far less healthful than if I had just tried cooking something tasty from the beginning. That is why I was so thrilled when I tried cooking quinoa a few weeks back. It has virtually transformed the way our household eats!
Quinoa initially came to my attention as a result of Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Diet Cookbook. I became doubtful that the recipe would be tasty enough to fulfill my family’s demanding preferences, but since it’s clearly so healthy I decided it was worth an attempt. Am I glad I did! Everyone liked the dish, from my better half (who adores fine meals) to my 5 year old son (who prefers hot dogs). Ever since then, Quinoa with Sun Dried Tomatoes has become a consistent dish at my house. I usually include in some chicken sausage and then we create a total dinner of it! It is quick, healthy and we are all happy.
Right after quinoa was such a huge hit at my household, I knew I had to locate a lot more quinoa recipes! Our family thrives on diversity so just one single recipe was not going to work!. Surprisingly, although eating quinoa is a relatively new thing in the American world, there are numerous recipes around. I’ve discovered good quinoa recipes every where from fine magazines like Food and Wine and Epicurious to nutritious magazines like Clean Eating and Cooking Light! I have tried more than just a few of them, and almost all of them are excellent.
Quinoa is extremely versatile and can be enjoyed in everything from a warm breakfast cereal to a hearty evening casserole. It could be used in place of bread crumbs in meatballs as well as meat loafs. My own young children simply just won’t go without their macaroni and cheese, however I’ve found that they actually eat as well when I exchange healthful quinoa for the pasta.
Most dietary experts consider quinoa to be a perfect food. In fact, The World Health Organization has deemed that quinoa is a complete protein. This means that it has all of the amino acids that you need for optimum health. It is also an excellent source of B vitamins, magnesium, calcium, folate, iron and phosphorus.
For wholesome healthy meals, try cooking quinoa! You will be glad that you did!
