Omitting rice in a crock pot recipe?

Does anyone know much liquid you would reduce in a recipe if you were omitting the rice in the crock pot?

I like brown rice and a lot of recipes call for converted rice. SO I would like to leave out the rice. Do I cut the liquids in half?
Ok, I tried it last night with regular brown rice and it didn’t work. So tonight I am going to make another pot of rice and still use the chicken. At least that won’t go to waste.

    how much rice?
if it calls for one cup of rice, omit one cup of liquid

Yes. Crock pot recipes do baste themselves.

I think you would be safe to cut the liquid in half, but why don’t you just substitute the brown rice for the white? that’s what I do for my family.

The ratio for liquid and rice is two to one. The rice absorbs twice the liquid. So if you omit the rice from a recipe, you should reduce the liquid by twice as much.

For example, if the recipe calls for one cup of rice, you should reduce your liquid by two cups.
