Whey protein is now Raw. it is made from an animal product. If you want Raw and Vegan you can make the smoothie with HEMP protein, or check out Living Foods Protein. I was skeptical at first, I haven’t had too much luck with raw cacao powder, but I used hemp protein powder on this shake and it was DELISH! and rich in omega 3 & protein. Re: mood-boostin properties, Cacao (in its raw form) has ANANDAMIDE, which is the chemical of bliss. It also has THEOBROMINE, which is another chemical that acts as a mood booster. If people consume raw cacao instead of traditional anti-depressants, doctors wouldn’t find depressed clients so lucrative.

HEMP protein, or check out Living Foods Protein. They are superior, but look into it yourself. I’ve just started to break away from whey myself. :)

I agree. If I eat too much it makes me sick to my stomach. I do not get how people can eat so much. I have to use small amounts now and only eat it occasionally. My favorite way is to make raw cacao truffles and have one in the afternoon or when I am wanting something rich and somewhat sweet. Again, this is occasionally. Thanks for the post.

One more thing… if you were a vegan, what would you use instead of the whey protein powder in this video?
